and possible solutions with Email Animator. It is highly recommended that you read this
file, as well as review the MasterClips Email Animator On-line Help.

Installation:
During the installation process, some video cards that use ATI drivers will experience a
problem with displaying the graphics in the installation program. This will not affect the
installation in any way.
Importing TIFF's:
LZW compressed TIFFs are not supported. When importing a TIF file, make sure it is
uncompressed.
Printing on a Laser Printer:
For best result when printing on a laser printer, choose FINE DITHER from your printer
settings before printing.
Windows NT Users:
There are known issues with the reminders under NT. Although Email Animator will install and run on NT, it is not a listed as a supported operating system due to this problem.

Sending Your MasterClips Animated Email Messages:
MasterClips' animated email messages are sent like any attachment in email. Once you have
created your animated email, your email program
takes over the job of sending the file. If you have any problems sending the file via email,
check the MasterClips Email Animator online
help for details on how to send animations with various email programs. However, if the
problems persist, you should refer to your email package's documentation, or contact that
company's technical support staff as they would best be able to help you with sending
attachments using your email package.
Hotmail Users:
If you are a Hotmail user using Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0, you can eliminate one step in
the Email Animator sending process. When defining your email settings in MasterClips Email
Animator(by clicking on "Setup" under the "Mail" menu), instead of choosing "Microsoft
Internet Explorer" or "Netscape" as your email package, choose "Other" and do the following:
Where it says "Program name" type Hotmail. Then, in the "Program Path",type
http://www.hotmail.com.
Outlook Express Users:
If you use Outlook Express as your email package, select Microsoft Internet Mail when
defining your email settings in MasterClips Email Animator (by clicking on "Setup" under the
"Mail" menu).
Sending Animated Email to American Online Users:
To send animated emails using AOL, you will want to save your animations as "self-playing
animations" (*.exe). To do this, go to the file menu and choose Save As, look for "Save as
Type" and change it to self-playing Animation (*.exe). Name and save your animation, then go
to your email program (AOL), and attach the file to your message. The Player will be send along with your email message.
Sending to a Person Using an Apple Macintosh:
When an Email Animator file is received on the Macintosh, it needs to be "UNSTUFFED". Most
email packages on the Mac do this automatically. However, if your recipient's email program
does not have this feature, then they will have to unstuff the file manually. The program

Optimizing the File Size to Improve Download Time:
To decrease the download time for your animated emails, there are two things you can do:
1. Send the animated email as an @HA file. This way the player does not get embedded into
the file. Of course, this should only be done if you know that the recipient already has the
Player on their system.
2. If you are importing WAV files or graphic files, make sure the sizes of these files are
kept as small as possible.

The Occasion Wizard - for creating professional looking custom-made special occasion
greetings and the Photo Album Wizard - for creating customized digital photo albums in
minutes.
Sending Players:
If you have already sent someone an EXE file, they will have the Player (just 90 K) already
on their computer system (unless they're erased it), so you could send them @HA files from
them on. If you're not sure though, it's always safer to send an EXE file. The benefit in
sending @HA files, is that they are much smaller files to open.

Does MasterClips Email Animator run on the PC and the Mac?
MasterClips Email Animator runs on Windows '95 and NT only; however, anyone with a Windows
or Mac system can receive the animated messages you create, -- just be sure to send the Mac
player along with your message to your friends with Macs.
What email packages are compatible with MasterClips Email Animator?
MasterClips animated email attachments work with Eudora, Netscape, Microsoft Exchange,
cc:Mail, and any other email package that lets you send and receive attachments.
How big are MasterClips' animated email attachments?
MasterClips animated email attachments can be as small as 10-20 KB. The Player is 90 KB.
Do I need MasterClips Email Animator software in order to view the animated email messages?
No. Each animated email message can be sent with a Player, so the recipient only needs to
open up the attachment to view it.
No special plug-ins, or software are needed.
What are the formats for importing sounds or music into Email Animator?
Sounds must be in a WAV format, while music should be in a MIDI format.
During installation, I'm having problems displaying graphics. What do I do?
During the installation process, some video cards that use ATI drivers will experience a
problem with displaying the graphics in the installation program. This will not affect the
installation in any way.
Why can't my recipient hear any sound with my animated email?
Sometimes a recipient will receive an animated email where the sound does not appear to be
working, even though you have included sound in the file. If this happens, have the
recipient check their Windows volume control under the START/Programs/ACCESSORIES/MULTIMEDIA
menu. From here, they can increase the volume by moving the volume slider for the midi
control. They should also make sure that there are no other active programs which are using
sound at the same time that they are viewing the animated email.
When do I send animated email as @HA files, and when as EXE files?
Currently, MasterClips animated email messages can be sent in both of these formats, and both
function with any Windows operating system. They differ in that the @HA file requires that
your recipient already has the @Player installed on their system, while the EXE file has the
Player embedded in it already.
